From Rio to the Jurassic Coast

While my story began in the vibrant, sun-soaked city of Rio de Janeiro, The Earth and Soul Soap Company was born here in Dorset, at the heart of the Jurassic Coast.

I have always carried a quiet passion for alchemy—the art of mixing and creating. What started as a small kitchen hobby, crafting gentle bars for friends and family, eventually grew into something much deeper. It became a way to bridge my two worlds: the colourful, energetic spirit of my Brazilian roots and the grounding, natural beauty of my British home.

The Clinical Spark

The true catalyst for this business wasn't just a love for soap—it was a need for healing.

By day, I am a qualified Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) within the NHS. Working on the front lines of healthcare, I witnessed firsthand the toll that clinical environments take on our bodies. I saw colleagues suffering from contact dermatitis, their hands red and raw from the harsh, industrial detergents required for constant scrubbing.

It highlighted a major gap in modern wellness. We live in an age where we are increasingly conscious of what we put into our bodies—eating organic, drinking water, taking vitamins—yet we rarely give a second thought to what we put on them.

The skin is our body’s largest organ. It defends us, breathes for us, and absorbs what we feed it. I realised that to help my community heal, I had to change the way we wash and moisturise.

Clinical Insight, Brazilian Spirit

Driven by my medical background, I set out to formulate a better solution. I didn't just want to make products that looked pretty; I wanted to create skincare that performed.

I approached formulation with the same precision I use in the operating theatre. I studied ingredients, researched fatty acid profiles, and tested recipes to ensure they cleansed deeply without stripping the skin’s natural moisture barrier. This clinical rigour is what led to the development of our hydro-activated lotions, Intensive Soothing Balm's and mineral-rich salts—products designed to repair what the modern world takes away.

But I didn't want it to feel clinical. I wanted it to feel like soul.

Infusing my Brazilian heritage into every batch, I turned to the ingredients of the rainforest and the tropics—rich Mango Butter, restorative Babassu Oil, and vibrant, earth-born colours. I wanted to transform a mundane daily necessity into a soulful ritual that sparks joy every time you step into the shower.
